The author collects every information about fishing in Maranhão, furnishing a lot of data for investimento in the fishing sector.

This productions is obtained form a completely empirical way of fishing. This primitive fishing has many implications in the State’s economy. The fishing structure is complex and without any organization. The fishermen are not protected by and insurance institution. This results in may problems that have implication on the State’s general economy.
