DIATOMÁCEAS EPÍFITAS EM Bostrychia MONTAGNE (RHODOPHYTA) DO MANGUEZAL DA ILHA DE SÃO LUÍS, ESTADO DO MARANHÃO, BRASIL: NAVICULALES E BACILLARIALIES

Abstract

Uma contribuição ao estudo taxonômico das diatomáceas epífitas coletadas em Bostrychia radicans e Bostrychia calliptera. Foram coletadas 24 amostras, bimestralmente, durante o período de dezembro de 1993 a dezembro de 1994. Os resultados obtidos mostram que as diatomáceas foram representadas por 04 famílias, 05 gêneros, 14 espécies e 02 variedades. A família melhor representada foi, Bacillariaceae com 07 espécies e 02 variedades, e o gênero mais representativo foi Nitzschia com 06 espécies e 02 variedades. Ocorreram 09 citações novas para a região Nordeste e 06 para o estado do Maranhão.

ABSTRACT

A contribution to the taxonomic knowledge of epiphytic diatoms in the hosts Bostrychia radicans and Bostrychia calliptera. Twenty-four samples, collected bimonthly between December 1993 and December 1994 were examined. The results obtained showed that the diatoms were represented by 04 families, 05 genera, 14 species and 02 varieties. The best represented family was Bacillariacea with 07 species and 02 varieties, and the most representative genus was Nitzschia with 06 species and 02 varieties. Nene news citations to the Northastern region of Brazil and six to Maranhão State were made.
