This research acquires its significance by examining the influence, reception, and transformation of Enlightenment ideas within the framework of Indigenous thought during Tupac Amaru II's revolution. The impact of Western ideas in colonized contexts paradoxically serves as instruments of liberation, contingent upon the semantic and practical agency of the receiving subjects. It is therefore essential to investigate the intellectual pathways through which these ideas reached critical thinkers like Tupac Amaru II, who reconfigured strategies, worldviews, and sensibilities that underpin all major attempts at social transformation—as well as the legacy they left for subsequent and contemporary insurgent movements.
