Abstract

The line between sanity and madness has been a central theme in literature, reflecting human dilemmas and the complexities of the mind. This article explores how literature portrays these two conditions, analyzing iconic characters and the cultural influences that shape these representations. The first section addresses madness in classical literature, while the second examines contemporary perceptions of the subject. The article concludes that sanity and madness are fluid concepts, often used to question social norms and expose the psychological complexity of individuals.
