DEMYSTIFYING COCONUT GERMINATION USING THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODELS

Coke is a culture of intertropical regions and its cultivation is an important agricultural activity generating employment, income, as well as an important nutritional source for human and animal nutrition. It provides a large quantity of products and sub-products, consumption of two fruits, landscape importance and practically every plant can be used. Given the difficulties observed in the teaching of botany, an alternative is the development of teaching materials, as a way of making available to students auxiliary instruments in learning. Thus, it was proposed to develop a series of models with the aim of showing each stage of the germination of the coconut fruit. The three-dimensional models were made by students of UEMG-Divinópolis in November 2022. The material used was reused or unused. The three-dimensional models are produced in a didactic sequence, in four phases of sprouting. It is possible to better understand these structures and stages from the elaboration of two models. With the elaboration of two models, the details of the internal structures of the fruit, as well as the germination process, were more easily assimilated by hairs. Such a model helps in the teaching-learning process, once the teaching of botany in a more didactic approach will lead students to a greater valorization of plants and solutions to problems.
