Abstract

The purpose of the article is to examine the following points: a) Rethink ethnography, b) Review certain anthropological and ethnographic contributions aimed at understanding the State c) Examine electoral processes considered as acts of ritual, performance and political symbolism and d ) Analyze the theoretical and practical proposals on the ethnographic study of the State from the «edges» and paying attention to the relations of «friction».
