This article analyzes human rights’ role in urban climate mobilization for the protection of moorland ecosystems, characteristic of the Andes Mountains and considered common goods. Through a case study, I delve into the litigation analysis and the role that human rights ideas and mechanisms have played. Specifically, I examine the behavior and practices of the World Bank’s transparency/accountability and arbitration mechanisms, comparing socio-legal mobilization in domestic litigation with transnational mobilization dynamics and extraterritorial conflict resolution mechanisms.
