LÓGICAS CRUZADAS: carreiras religiosa e política

Abstract

O estudo aborda as relações entre a alta esfera eclesiástica e o espaço político no Brasil nas últimas décadas, com foco nos efeitos das intersecções entre essas duas esferas sociais sobre modalidades de composição de carreiras religiosas exitosas. Ao perceber que as possibilidades de acúmulo de competência e, por essa via, de exercício da autoridade reconhecida em subespaços específicos da esfera católica (episcopado, universidade, pastorais, ONGs), a análise procura igualmente restituir as lógicas de investimento (mais ou menos conscientes) dos agentes dentro de determinadas estruturas de oportunidades, capturar os constrangimentos derivados de tais estruturas, bem como as vivências subjetivas reconstruídas em seus relatos.

ABSTRACT

This work discusses the interrelations between the field of the Catholic Church and the field of politics in Brazil in the last decades, focusing on the effects of the intersections between those two social spheres in the making of successful religious careers. The analysis seeks to restore the logic of investment of the agents within certain structures of opportunity, capturing the constraints derived from such structures, as well as the subjective experiences reconstructed by them through their recitals.
