A LITANIA DA VELHA NA NOVA/VELHA SÃO LUÍS

Resumo

O presente trabalho busca analisar as questões da memória e do patrimônio no centro histórico de São Luís a partir de uma leitura do poema Litania da velha de Arlete Nogueira da Cruz. Neste poema a autora faz uma interpretação do centro histórico da cidade a partir dos passos de uma velha que vive de esmolas recolhidas e dos achados de inútil valia catados nas ruas. Utilizando conceitos formulados por Walter Benjamin, buscamos extrair de fragmentos dessa obra imagens dialéticas que nos permitam a compreensão de um passado presente de São Luís do Maranhão.

ABSTRACT

This work intends to analyses the problem of memory and the heritage of the historic town of Sao Luis from a view about the Arlete Nogueira da Cruz' poem, "Litania da velha". In this poem, the author elaborates a reading on the historic town of the city from an old woman's steps who live between the buildings and the unuseful findings of the street. Using conceits formulated by Walter Benjamin, trying to extract from fragments of this work dialetic images that along to understand a present past from Sao Luis do Maranhao.
