Abstract

Adriana Lisboa, who to Saramago “she is an author to the present and to the future”, reveals herself through the poetic voices in verse and prose, materialized in poems, short stories and romances, revisiting memories that amplify the Portuguese writer’s view. Flávio Carneiro, writer, literary critic and literature professor at State University of Rio de Janeiro, alludes narrative voices predominately fictionalized into novels, tales and short stories, totalized seventeen books; he wrote two movie screenplays, the short film A noite do capitão (2014) and the movie Bodas de Papel (2008). This last one, a narrative that intents projection on another media, establish an intersection between the authors Adriana Lisboa and Flávio Carneiro, firstly because they both sign the screenplay, and secondly by the construction of spiraled memories that re-signify the fairy tale through dislocate the marvelous, rewriting other narratives. By that, we aim to analyze the marvelous and the memory outspreading on the movie Bodas de Papel (2008), written by Adriana Lisboa and Flávio Carneiro, directed and produced by André Sturm. Supported by the filmic narrative approaches by Robert Stam (1981) and metafiction by Gustavo Bernardo (2010), among others, this work articulates the marvelous categories from considerations by Todorov’s (2017) and Propp’s (2002), and memory approaches by Candau (2012), to analyze how the imagery from the fairy tales is revisited by the main character, Nina. In this way, it points out the dialog established through the go and return character’s memories that revisit Os três príncipes de Serendip and Sherazade’s tales, while they reconnect herself to Candeias.
