MESTIÇAGEM E BARROCO NA LITERATURA DO GRANDE CARIBE

Resumo

O artigo parte de uma tentativa de definir o Grande Caribe, concebido sem delimitações rígidas, antes como um espaço de fronteiras porosas. Em seguida trata das relações entre o Caribe francófono e a América Latina a fim de mostrar como se cavou um fosso entre essas duas partes, sobretudo a partir da independência haitiana. Para compreender a literatura da região, se passa pelo entrecruzamento dos conceitos de mestiçagem e barroco, pela escrita da história da escravidão, pelo afrorrealismo.

Résumé

Cet article part d’une tentative de défi nir la Grande Caraïbe, conçue sans délimitations rigides, plutôt comme un espace de frontières poreuses. Ensuite traite des relations entre la Caraïbe francophone et l’Amérique Latine afi n de démontrer comment se creusa le fossé entre les deux parties, surtout à partir de l’indépendence haïtienne. Pour mieux cerner les questions concernant la littérature de la région, on passe par l’entrecroisement des concepts de métissage et de baroque, par l’écriture de l’histoire de l’esclavage, par l’afro-réalisme.

Abstract

The article starts from an attempt to defi ne the Great Caribbean, conceived without rigid limits, above all as a space of porous borders. Then it deals with relations between the francophone Caribbean and Latin America with the aim of showing how a gap was made between these two parts, especially after Haitian independence. To understand the literature of the region, the intersecting of the concepts of miscegenation and barroque are examined, by the writing of the history of slavery, by afrorealism.
