THE SOCIAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE BOOK O TURISTA APRENDIZ, OF MÁRIO DE ANDRADE

Abstract

The work O turista aprendizwas created between the years 1928 and 1930, in the form of notebooks and travel chronicles. At first, the writer from São Paulo originally published these writings in the Diário Nacional newspaper, on the same dates. However, the official publication of the book came out after the texts were published in the newspaper, in an edition organized by Telê Ancona Lopez, almost fifty years later, in 1976. The objective of the article is to read and interpret the fragments that prove the approach of Mário de Andrade with the social ballast. As a contribution, the research carried out seeks an overview of the “social contributions” left in their chronicles. As a theoretical basis, we will dialogue
with the authors: Candido (2000); Lopez (1972); Santiago (2006), among others for the contemplation of the theme.
