SPACE OF LITERATURE AND CRITICISM – alternances and sequence

Abstract

This article deals, through an excerpt for didactic purposes, with how the literary phenomenon and criticism were thought of by different theorists, in different cultures, evidencing alterations and permanences in the sphere of the concept of these two instances – literature and criticism – that become effective interconnected, since all criticism presupposes a concept of literature. In the Brazilian context, critics with contributions elaborated throughout the 19th and 20th centuries were highlighted. In a delimited way, at the national level, the thought of the writer and critic from Piauí Assis Brasil was emphasized, who elaborated a thesis from which one can think about the Brazilian literary context of the second half of the 20th century.
