The objective of this work is to analyze the changes in land cover in the Environmental Protection Area of the Baixada Maranhense, inserted in an Agricultural Frontier of the Amazon, considering the years 2000, 2010 and 2020. The methodology used in this research included the use of spatial dynamic modeling, where steps were carried out to organize data, calculate transition rates, generate evidence weights of explanatory variables, model calibration and validation. The main results show that: a) there was a reduction in the transition rates between the years evaluated; b) the chosen variables allowed us to achieve a similarity index of up to 73%; c) the main destination class of the transitions was Managed Pasture. It is concluded that the variables chosen in this research allowed the construction of a model consistent with the transformations in this Amazonian frontier, either through the logic of historical transformation, or through the monitoring programs of the Amazon.
