Abstract
The article aims to analyze the perceptions of Brazilian youth about green capitalism, its practices and speeches, based on websurvey with 1,225 young people. The survey inquires about what young people mean by green capitalism, how they perceive the role of the State, the Market and Society and also the practices of green consumption. The theoretical support uses contributions from environmental sociology and the sociology of youth. The main conclusions indicate that young people present a high level of knowledge about environmental sustainability, with several practical actions already incorporated individually and by their families. The informants understand that the success of environmental sustainability and green consumption depends on a link between
State, market and society. In sum, the data show how young people are agents of this new civilizing process, represented by the environmentalization of practices and social relations.
