Abstract

The article “HUMAN RIGHTS FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS: reflections in times of
barbarism” presents reflections based on research in development in this area by researchers from UFMA and PUC / RS. It is considered necessary to develop the debate on the topic in view of the upsurge of all types of violence against adolescents in Brazil and the ongoing reforms that aim to reduce the age of criminal responsibility as a strategy to combat crime. It is intended to provide opportunities for the socialization of scientific productions, in addition to allowing the expansion of the debate with other subjects involved with this theme in Brazil and abroad, based on the following axes: The human rights of adolescents: advances and challenges; Violence against Adolescents in Brazil and Maranhão; Reduction of the age of criminal responsibility and its consequences; Life Trajectories of Adolescents in Conflict with the Law; Child and Youth Labor in Brazil and Maranhão.
