Abstract

The article deals with the formation of history teachers in their initial and continued modalities. The harsh attacks on this formation, has put in check the autonomy of the public university and the guarantee of quality in Brazilian higher education. It is urgent to guarantee formation as a moment of subversion of alienated work and promotion of democratic, autonomous and secular thinking. We highlight the relevance of the supervised internship, as well as the challenges and possibilities faced for the realization of this in a remote way, as a strategy of "survival" experienced in the pandemic period. To these, the reflections on continuing education are in line, here by the bias of the Professional Master in History Teaching (ProfHistória), whose target audience, are precisely the teachers of the discipline History, who work in basic education.
