Abstract

It’s important to make reflections, in the present reality, about the Brazilian “Carolinas”. Look from the notion of poverty, inequalities and social struggles, the Carolinas will have as backdrop the scene “Quarto de despejo: Diário de uma favelada”, wrote by Carolina Maria de Jesus (1914-1977). As many Carolinas, Carolina de Jesus was a mom, black, working, semiliterate, slum, impoverished, in short, titles that would not fit in this study. Is listed at the bibliographical research tangenting excerpts of the aforementioned study, with documentar research about of IBGE – Brazilian Institute of Geography and
Statistics, to understand the atually situation and the segregationist scene Against black and brown people. Finally, don’t end our approach. But there is the long journey to walk: in the struggle and resistance to protect the rights of Carolinas along
Brazilian country, which is authoritarian and violent, subsumed and relegated to the finance capital.
