Abstract

After years of a political-institutional scenario led by centrist figures and discussions around structural and socioeconomic guidelines, last decade brought questions that address values and identity agenda, in addition to the escalation of the lack of expectations regarding the resolution of problems that inequality in Brazil entails. Such questions are also crossed by ideologies where their advocates are in continuous dispute for the domain of public sphere, therefore, of
public opinion. The impacts of this process are still under analysis, however it is necessary to understand first, which democracy this process is referring to, since these agents claim to defend it from different perspectives. This article presents a reflection on contemporary Brazilian democracy, in face of recent ideological disputes and new medias of socializing ideas.
