Abstract

Objective: To compare and analyze post-war refugee reception policies, identifying successful practices and areas for improvement. Methods: Qualitative integrative review, examining articles, reviews, policy reports, and official documents from 2019 to 2024. Inclusion criteria focused on works providing a broad view of post-conflict refugee reception and integration strategies. Results: Refugee integration into new societies is challenging due to linguistic and cultural barriers, stigma, and difficulties in accessing employment, housing, education, and healthcare, often resulting in isolation and loss of cultural identity, culminating in mental health disorders. Final considerations: The effectiveness of reception policies depends on an approach that promotes refugee integration and well-being, assessing each population individually.
