Abstract

To break away from colonial thought. This is a premise when we talk about sociobiodiversity justice. In that sense, this paper analyzes the intrinsic relation between sociobiodiversity justice and decolonial thought through the following questions: what are the necessary breakaways from colonial thought in order to theorize sociobiodiversity justice?; and what are the contributions from decolonial thought on that process? To achieve that, we use the literature research and the Dussel's alternative dialectic in order to explore the contradictions that compose the colonial narrative. In conclusion, it is noted that sociobiodiversity is rooted in the foundations proposed by the Modernity/Coloniality Group, most of all because it calls for possibilities of imagining new worlds beyond the abyssal thinking which was constituted by the colonial narrative.
