Abstract

It is analyzed on current capitalism-imperialism and it is vindicated the need for anti-imperialist processes against policies that affect the development of southern countries, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean. The objective is to contribute to the analysis and awareness of problems to be prioritized in public policies and in the emancipatory struggles to influence national independence and sovereignty, against the hegemony of the capitalism. It reflects on gaps between developed and underdeveloped countries with social impacts and on imbalances between countries. Those derived from the domain of knowledge, science and technology stand out, showing signs of disadvantages of southern countries in these spheres. It is recognized UNESCO's initiative to create a global consensus in favor of the deployment of knowledge and science accessible to all, legitimizing the concept of "open science".
