Abstract

Our objective in this work is to present theoretical and epistemological reflections linked to gender studies, together with empirical analyzes of the world of work and popular culture based on interviews with research subjects. Initially, we will focus on the main ideas of the so-called third wave of the feminist movement. The waves of feminism are expressions of freedom practices (Foucault) that construct subjects and express ethics, understood as a rational practice. These reflections support the reading of two studies. One has as its object the Wonder Woman project, formed by women in the context of slave labor
in Maranhão. The second study brings together the experiences of women protagonists of popular culture in the state. Reflections are presented about the conditions of these women from an intersectional perspective and the feminist practices of these black leaders.
