Abstract

The article as its scope a reflection on social protection in the country, analyzing the limits and possibilities of State interventions to materialize the SUAS, through the guarantee of a standard of protection that expands access to social security guaranteed by the Social Assistance Policy, with financing, in a Brazil that insists on maintaining the logic of fiscal austerity. The PNAS/SUAS is addressed after the coup 16, within the scope of the Temer government, followed by the dismantling of the Bolsonaro government, with emphasis on the imposition of limits on spending in the social area and the use of expenses with unlimited interest to feed financial capital. Finally, critical considerations are made to recent and current Brazil, discussing the need to rebuild the Brazilian State and the SUAS in the perspective of reestablishing the social protection that is the responsibility of the PNAS, opposing the harmful effects of ultra-neoliberalism.
