Abstract

The paper analyzes non-classical privatization processes of the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) [Brazilian Unified Health System] in the states of Paraíba, Pará and Pernambuco based on the method of historical-dialectical materialism. Its data stems from research carried out in the three states. The paper questions the hegemonic strategies for building an ideology towards non-classical privatization in the health sector, through the management of health units by social health
organizations. It found out that the ongoing privatization process paves the way for reducing the rights of health users and SUS workers.
