This paper explores the influence of Michel Foucault's thought on Antonio Negri's work regarding the concept of constituent power. In “Constituent Power” (1992), Negri revives the notion of constituent power within revolutionary practice, critiquing its
juridical approach and emphasizing its extraordinary and limitless nature. In it, the Italian author suggests the need to draw on Foucault's work to understand the configuration of the "subject-power" that underpins the concept of constituent power. This hypothesis is later revisited in “assembly” (2017), co-authored with Michael Hardt, in the context of rethinking revolutionary dynamics within the framework of new social movements they term
"multitudinous." In this process, it is concluded that Negri creatively instrumentalizes Foucault, disregarding some of the French philosopher’s fundamental premises regarding power in his reflections.
