Since its discovery, the Brazilian Amazon has been the scene of the most profound territorial transformations, including the expansion of its frontiers, which has had repercussions, even today, on the formation of its agrarian structure. The main objective of this article, therefore, is to provide a brief history of the production of agrarian space in the Brazilian Amazon, with emphasis on the frontier of the Pará Amazon, exploring the territorialities and conflicts that emerged from the second half of the 20th century. This includes the emergence of new social actors involved in territorial disputes with old actors over the use of territory. From a methodological point of view, this is an exploratory and qualitative analysis, based on secondary sources and specific literature. Therefore, the identification of the multiplicity of conflicts, actors and subjects, indicatesthat the frontier continues to be a stage for dispute between multiple territorial projects, which, much more than development models, actually represent competing societal paradigms, making the Brazilian Amazon (and the Amazon of Pará) the center of global interest in a humanity project.
