Abstract

This is a study about the right to food in the context of social aspects of sustainability. Hunger and food insecurity are analyzed as deficits of the Rule of Justice. Some theoretical positions on the production and consumption of transgenic and organic foods are presented. The various dimensions of the theme are discussed from the sustainability and risk society categories. Then, in this context, adequate food in the Cururupu Marine Extractive Reserve is discussed. Finally, the commoditization of food reflexes in the Food Security Policy is discussed, as a result of the advance of the capitalist accumulation process and the construction of ultraliberal policies, with a focus on the on the food insecurity crisis experienced in recent years, that deepened with Covid-19 pandemic.
