Abstract

The article explores the journey of Rodrigo, an artisan from Campinas, São Paulo, who developed his skill in creating liturgical tools for orixás, known as "ferros" or "jabás," initially to fulfill a personal commitment. The success of his creations, driven by a revealing dream, led him to refine his techniques and acquire new equipment, establishing himself as a specialist in the field. His works, especially focused on entities like Exus and Pombogiras, reflect a deep connection between tradition, spirituality, and innovation, utilizing materials and techniques that incorporate specific symbolic and cultural elements. Rodrigo combines his knowledge as an automotive mechanic with religious craftsmanship, creating unique pieces that carry profound meanings and are regarded as artistic and cultural expressions. In addition to his work, Rodrigo is committed to social causes, further reinforcing his devotion to the sacred.
