VERA FISCHER “IRRECONHECÍVEL”: a objetivação da (não) beleza na terceira idade

Abstract

RESUMO: Na mídia, muitos discursos objetivam os idosos, alguns deles enunciando uma (não)beleza na terceira idade. Para perceber esta regularidade, foi realizada uma análise, por meio das contribuições teórico-metodológicas da análise de discurso de linha francesa foucaultiana, de notícia sobre a atriz Vera Fischer, do site O Dia - Celebridades. Assim, pode-se demarcar um discurso midiático que objetiva a beleza na terceira idade somente quando associada a características da juventude, sendo que quando, particularmente as idosas, apresentam características associadas à terceira idade são objetivadas como não-belas, ou “irreconhecíveis” como no caso de Vera Fischer.

ABSTRACT: In media, many resources objectify the elderly, some of them enunciating the absence of beauty at third age. In order to notice this irregularity, an analysis was carried out by means of many theoretical and methodological contributions by Foucault’s French Speech Analysis. The analysis comprised a news article about actress Vera Fischer, published by O Dia – Celebridades website. Hence, it is possible to highlight a media discourse that objectifies beauty at third age only when it is linked to youth characteristics. On the other hand, when particularly elderly women show characteristics associated to third age, they are objectified as not beautiful, or ‘unrecognizable’, as Vera Fischer was.
