This article seeks to analyze the process of adapting a video game into a novel. The object analyzed in the case study was the game God of War II and its corresponding book format. Among the theorists adopted to support the work are Joseph Campbell (2013), Christopher Vogler (2013), Linda Hutcheon (2013) and Dilson Devides (2018), among others necessary to understand the narrative and its adaptive process. The bibliographical and qualitative research found that the transformation of the video game into a novel was possible given the adapter's dexterity in understanding his creative freedom, which allowed him to add or delete whatever suited him to give the novel the characteristics and aspects he deemed necessary. To this end, it was possible to determine the use of the hero's journey as the main adaptive resource. It was also noted that there was a scarcity of material on adaptation in the videogame-novel vector.
