Abstract

The purpose of the article is to discuss stricto sensu formation as one of the ways to continue formation that contributes to the process of human emancipation. It is reiterated to think of continuing education as a possibility of investigation, reasoning, organization and analysis through the establishment of relationships and the construction of praxis, making it possible for stricto sensu training to be part of this scope. It is understood that in it there is an opportunity that, after initial formation, it is possible to go beyond “training” or “improvement” since it refers to a process that allows the construction of the activity itself and it is not restricted to the acquisition of scientific knowledge and its applicability, as it takes into account the political, ethical, aesthetic and subjective dimensions. It is considered that formation at the stricto sensu level has the potential to be the locus of continued teacher formation committed to a human emancipation project that understands that school education is one of the social complexes that can act for the structuring objective-subjective conditions in favor of human emancipation from the teaching, research and extension tripod.
