Abstract

The article presented here is part of a Master's research carried out within the scope of the Graduate Program in Education (PPGEd), at the Federal University of Piauí (UFPI). It brings as an object of study the training of basic education teachers, with the objective of reflecting on how the modalities of continuing education accessible to basic education professionals promote the emancipation of teaching work. This is a narrative research that had as its locus a public school in the state of Piauí, in Teresina. Use the Narrative Interview as a device for data production, with the participation of four teachers. The results indicate that the modalities are diverse and interact to meet professional needs, favoring the emancipation of teaching work as they assume the pedagogical practice as centrality in continuing education.
